🎉 Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest team members! 🎉
Over the past couple of months, we've been delighted to welcome several new starters across the business.

👋 Monika, Kim and Leigh joined our Production Team at the beginning of July. After completing a 2‑week onboarding plan with our trainer Kayleigh, they’ve already settled into the shop floor and are contributing to day‑to‑day operations.
👋 Chloe has become part of Philtronics through a Network75 Degree Apprenticeship in Business Management with the University of South Wales. Before beginning her new course, she’s spending the summer with us on an internship, helping to roll out one of our latest innovation projects while getting to know her new work environment and colleagues.
👋 Kinga stepped into our Purchasing Team in May, bringing valuable experience in procurement and electronics manufacturing.

We wish them all every success in their new roles!

It was great to welcome Martyn Wagstaff from Springfield Advisory Services to Philtronics today to discuss the renewal of our Mental Health & Wellbeing support programme. Following the launch of our pilot scheme last summer, our team has had access to the RESET wellbeing portal directly through our Philtronics SharePoint site, providing valuable resources and support whenever they need it.

As we continue to strengthen our commitment to employee wellbeing, we're excited to explore the next phase of our partnership with Springfield Advisory. This includes expanding the support available and introducing targeted wellbeing sessions through our Philtronics Academy, helping us create a positive, supportive and resilient workplace.

A huge thank you to Martyn for visiting us and for his ongoing support as we continue this important journey.

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Steph Locke and Ruth Kearney from Nightingale HQ for a tailored AI training session with 24 members of staff.

This wasn’t just an introduction to what AI can do, it was a hands‑on exploration of how AI can support real challenges across the business.

We brought together representatives from every department to broaden awareness and spark ideas about how AI can enhance day‑to‑day work. The key message throughout the day: How can AI help you?

A highlight was seeing the excitement build in the Academy as we went around the room to hear what each group had managed to create in just half an hour. Everyone is on a learning journey, and today showed how quickly confidence grows when people get the chance to experiment and see real results. AI isn’t about replacing people, it’s about empowering teams, improving efficiency, and unlocking productivity across the business.

A big thank you to Steph, Ruth, and everyone who took part. We started our digitalisation journey with Nightingale HQ 3 years ago, and today felt like an important step forward in our AI journey.

Exciting news from the Velindre Sierra Nevada trek! 🏔️

Anne successfully completed the Velindre Cancer Centre Fundraising Sierra Nevada trek on Sunday, alongside 65 fellow trekkers!

We would like to thank all our staff for their support, from the brilliant bake sales to Wear it Red Day. Your contributions helped make this possible.

Anne personally raised an outstanding £2,759, and together as a group, an incredible £120,000 has been raised for Velindre patients so far.

Throughout the challenge, trekkers shared stories and heartfelt testimonies about the exceptional level of care and compassion delivered by Velindre every day. This funding will make a real difference, helping patients and their families through some of the toughest times.

Thank you again to everyone who supported, donated, baked, wore red, or cheered them on. Your efforts are changing lives 💚

This pledge demonstrates our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community, serving personnel, service leavers, veterans, and their families, by treating them with fairness and respect in the workplace and beyond.

Signing the Covenant is the start of an ongoing journey. It is a living document, and we look forward to building on our support over time.

🎉 We’re thrilled to celebrate Kirsty and Ioan on successfully passing their IPC/WHMA-A-620 Qualification – the industry standard for Requirements and Acceptance of Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies.

Kirsty has worked hard to upskill and build her confidence. This qualification is a big milestone for her, strengthening her capabilities and opening the door to more complex assemblies.

Ioan, who joined us last September on his Advanced Engineering apprenticeship, has complemented his college studies with this industry-specific knowledge that isn’t covered in the classroom. A great achievement so early in his career!

It’s brilliant to see our team members growing their expertise. Proud of you both! 🙌
