🔧 We’re Hiring – Test Technician

Philtronics is expanding, and we’re looking for a Test Technician to strengthen our production and RMA capability.

What you’ll be doing:
➡️ Testing production units to detailed Test Specifications (primarily box‑build assemblies)
➡️ Hands‑on bench testing using oscilloscopes, DMMs, electrical safety analysers, and other diagnostic tools
➡️ Fault‑finding and testing RMA box‑build assemblies

If you’re confident on the bench, enjoy problem‑solving, and want to be part of a growing manufacturing team, we’d love to hear from you.

👋 Oliver Jones – Engineering & Test Manager
Oliver brings a strong electronics engineering background and proven leadership experience from multi‑disciplinary manufacturing environments. He will lead our Engineering and Test teams, supporting NPI, problem‑solving and continuous improvement.

👋 Nikita Craven – Buyer
Bringing strong logistics, operations and supplier‑coordination experience, Nikita will support our purchasing activity and help strengthen material flow and supplier performance.

Over the summer, our team kept building capability where it counts: cable and wire harness quality. Staff continued upskilling in IPC/WHMA-A-620, the industry standard for Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies, developed jointly by IPC and the Wire Harness Manufacturers Association.

Training covers the workmanship that makes a harness reliable: wire preparation, crimped and soldered terminations, connectorisation, protection, and inspection criteria.

Thank you to our trainer Kayleigh for passing on her knowledge.

Certification is not a box tick, it’s how we protect the product that leaves the building. Well done to everyone who completed the training! 👏

DofE Wales were proud to recognise a new Bronze supporter at the recent Swansea Bay Business Club Lunch at the Swansea.com stadium 💜

The occasion was very fitting as the guest speaker at the lunch was Simon Pritchard, the CEO of Philtronics.

Pictured is Simon being presented with their Bronze Associate certificate by DofE Wales Operations Manager- Jess Rumble.

Philtronics support will help the DofE in Wales to deliver the charity’s new strategy “ World Ready strategy for 2026–2031”.

One of the key strands of the strategy is to improve accessibility for young people from low-income and disadvantaged backgrounds, including those outside mainstream education and within the youth justice system.

Thank you Simon and Anne from Philtronics for your terrific support and to Jonathan and the Swansea Bay Business Club for all their doing for DofE Wales.

Philtronics is looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team.

This role involves carrying out inspections across incoming goods, pre-test and dispatch activities, ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards before they reach our customers. Experience in quality inspection, electrical assemblies, wiring, looms or harnesses would be advantageous.

We're pleased to welcome three new team members to Philtronics! 🙌

🔸 Lisa joins us with previous electronics manufacturing experience, having worked across a range of production, wiring, soldering roles throughout her career.
🔸 Kai has recently completed his A-levels and is beginning his career in manufacturing. He brings a mature attitude, a willingness to develop new skills.
🔸 Chloe is also new to the electronics sector and has already demonstrated attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a thoughtful approach to learning.

We're delighted to have Lisa, Kai and Chloe on board and look forward to supporting them as they grow their careers with Philtronics.
