Had a different job in the workshop this week

Aberclean’s brand new Scania 660s in for some extras to be fitted

Black top Kelsa light bar with x6 OZZ top spot lights and wired up with orange side lights and beacons

Black Kelsa rear 3 in 1 perimeter kit

Inverter wired up inside the cab

With Scottish summer finally here now’s the perfect time to get your air conditioning gassed up and running again for summer

New service available here at Stewart Anderson Mechanical Services with the introduction of a new air conditioning machine off road version with the ability to carry out mobile air conditioning regassing and system checking which makes it ideal for 1 or more vehicles to get done on the same site or yard

Been a good busy last few months including a new member of staff Mitch , here’s a couple of pictures of some of the jobs carried out over the last few months , Including breakdowns at Perth and up at Dalcross at Inverness helping customers run smoothly even when they breakdown

🔧 Breakdown at Altens on a hire truck with a snapped key in the back door lock

🔧 Alternator malfunction on a scania S650 , new alternator fitted and back charging again

🔧 Mitch down to Perth with a customer with a burst coolant pipe , spare pipe instock fitted to keep customer going again

🔧Breakdown at Dalcross with a customer with a burst air bag on the trailer and found the truck wouldn’t start as well which found out the starter relay corroded , spare one instock in the van to minimise down time fitted as well

🔧 Volvo grab truck in for a 6 weekly inspection and found a broken spring , new spring fitted and other defects sorted at the same time to keep the truck running

🔧 Tyre boss inflation system removed and fitted and wired up to customers new main truck for the woods and removed and fitted a Kelsa suzie bar and wired up including fitting rear perimeter lights to finish the truck off

🔧 Volvo FL broken down not getting gears , found clutch worn out , fitted new clutch and clutch cylinder

🔧 Breakdown at a builders merchant in Banchory for a customer, customer in to pick up a load and found the truck wouldn’t switch back on , quick tilt of the cab and found the link wire on the starter motor corroded , new link wire fitted and back running again

🔧 Easy job on a full new electric Terberg shunter at Aberdeen harbour before sailing across to Shetland needing the suzie couplings swapped over

🔧 An interesting job of helping the good lads at JKR refit a gearbox range change and retarder to a scania S660

🔧 A few onsite trailer inspections for a good customer

🔧JOB OPPORTUNITY🔧

Experienced HGV Mechanic required for busy commercial workshop to carry out maintenance, repairs, servicing as well as MOT preparation and presentation and on site inspections and trailer inspections.
Working hours flexible to suit candidate and would be looking to introduce a Backshift type of hours - Monday to Friday & Saturday mornings (flexible depending on workload)
Experience in a similar setting, although consideration will be given to applicants who have less experience in the HGV field.
HGV Licence preferable but not essential.
Competitive pay rate available & company van available for the right candidate to cover and assist with breakdowns and on site repairs

Experience in Volvo would be ideal but not essential due to majority of work load would be repairs and fault finding on Volvos

Been a really busy start of the year so far with plenty breakdowns and wiring faults and adblue faults so here’s a little update

🔧Volvo FE non start, found various broken and corroded wires in the engine wiring loom, new wiring loom fitted and back going again

🔧Volvo FH4 broken down on the AWPR with handbrake fault and found corroded wiring at the APM, Repaired wiring and back going again

🔧 Scania S650 with a water pump bearing failure and damaged the blades on the fan, new water pump, fan and new belt fitted and back going again

🔧 Scania R500 with a air leak and found a corroded air tank, new air tank fitted and back going again

🔧 Volvo FH4 with various adblue faults with nox sensor faults, found corroded wiring to the exhaust silencer for the nox sensors, wiring repaired and back going again

🔧 Volvo FH4 with a handbrake malfunction and not releasing, found corroded wiring to the APM, wiring repaired and got the truck back going again

🔧 Volvo FH4 Dual clutch with gearbox faults and found the gearbox shaft brake worn and faulty, removed gearbox lid and replaced the shaft brake and recalibrated the gearbox and found faults all inactive

🔧 Volvo FH4 with a worn clutch, new clutch and clutch cylinder fitted and calibrated

Been fairly flat out the last few months so not had time to do any updates so here’s a little update, would like to welc...

Been fairly flat out the last few months so not had time to do any updates so here’s a little update, would like to welcome Scott to the team as managed to get a second member of the team with a 2nd van on the road as well, also managed to get a workshop dog as well which some of the customers have met already.

🔧 A 6 weekly inspection carried out on this Merc and found play in a set of wheel bearings, stripped down and new bearings and races fitted

🔧 A new camshaft and an injector for another D13K with a spun lobe on the camshaft

🔧 A Volvo FH16 with a leaking power steering pipe , new genuine pipe fitted and steering bled up on site

🔧 A new easysheet cover fitted to this scrap bulker as it had a fair few rips in it

🔧 A Volvo FM4 with a adblue fault and found the adblue pump heavily corroded and leaking air through the body, new pump fitted and dosing test for the adblue done on site

🔧 A Volvo FH4 in for fuel Knocking and required a new set of injectors, new set of injectors supplied and fitted and programmed

🔧 A Scania S650 with a worn out diff , old diff removed and new fitted with fresh oil

🔧 Breakdown for loss of drive on a customer site and found the clutch worn and damaged springs , gearbox and clutch replaced on customers site and calibrated and customer was back on its way by the afternoon

🔧 Volvo EC140EL needing some software parameters checked as customer has removed the steel wrist off the machine and swapped out the old joysticks

Really busy the last couple of months, here’s a little update of some of the jobs that’s been getting done

🔧 Daf XF with cracked discs , new discs and pads fitted

🔧 Volvo EC140EL with a adblue fault and SCR faults found faulty temperature sensor , new sensor fitted and back to full power again

🔧Volvo FM4 D13K Full engine rebuild due to engine running away and over revved and melted pistons and injectors , x6 new liners, x6 new pistons ,x6 new injectors and cylinder head overhaul up at Inverness

🔧 Renault T series in limp mode due to spinning a lobe on the camshaft and damaging x1 injector, new camshaft and x3 pumping injectors fitted

🔧 Daf XF with a manual 16 speed gearbox that lost gears and crunching , gearbox removed and sent away to get refurbished

🔧 Mercedes Actros with a regen fault and found exhaust brake siezed and unable to free off , new exhaust brake fitted and carried out regen and all faults inactive

🔧 Volvo FH4 with leaking radiator and worn squeaking belts and tensioners and fan hub so all new parts fitted and back going again

🔧 Volvo FM4 with running rough and found to have a cracked cylinder liner and coolant mixing with the engine oil , after stripping down and found crankshaft damaged , easier and quicker to remove second hand engine from spare truck and got it fitted and programmed to the truck and working properly again

Always looking for jobs big or small, from engine rebuilds to servicing, inspections and diagnostics

Still looking for someone full time or part time to help out and assist with bigger jobs and at nights and to assist with inspections and MOT prep
