This week, Paul had the privilege of attending His Majesty The King’s visit to Peterhead Port as part of the Peterhead Energy Transition Forum.

The visit brought together organisations from across the energy transition value chain, highlighting the experience, infrastructure and collaboration already in place across Peterhead and the wider North East.

It was also a valuable opportunity for Paul to briefly discuss the role hydrogen can play as part of the wider energy mix and the importance of developing the infrastructure needed to support new energy technologies.

For Nomad, conversations like these reinforce the importance of looking at the energy system as a whole, bringing together generation, infrastructure, industry and emerging technologies to create practical routes forward.

A significant moment for the North East and an important opportunity to showcase the region’s experience, infrastructure and role in the future of energy.

We recently welcomed Dr. Tom to Nomad’s UK office in Aberdeen.

With our experience and expertise spanning both the US and UK, bringing the team together in person is an important part of how we continue to strengthen the business on both sides of the Atlantic.

The visit gave us the opportunity to share technical insight, discuss current and upcoming projects, challenge ideas and look at how experience from different markets can help us approach complex energy and infrastructure projects more effectively.

For Nomad, being an international business is about more than having teams in different locations. It is about connecting that knowledge, experience and thinking so we can bring the strongest possible team to every project.

Great to have Dr. Tom in the UK and spending time with the team.

Paul attended a roundtable with Scotland’s Energy Minister at 3t’s Aberdeen training centre, organised by OEUK and led by CEO David Whitehouse.

The conversation covered the continued role of North Sea oil and gas, offshore wind, the demands being placed on the supply chain and the potential role of hydrogen in the wider energy system.

A key part of the discussion was how hydrogen could help unlock new ways to transport and store energy, while creating demand at the point of interconnection and supporting the continued development of offshore wind.

An important conversation around the infrastructure, investment and joined-up thinking needed to support Scotland’s evolving energy landscape.
