NM002 is a unique, dual immunomodulatory-antimicrobial intervention for viral and/or bacterial pneumonia which together, are responsible for >2 million deaths across the world annually. This is not acceptable and the need to develop more and better solutions to combat has never been more urgent. Very pleased to announce our award of a £1m grant from Innovate UK to support Nylexa's clinical development for COVID-19. There are no other treatments being tested for COVID-19 with the established safety profile & unique, dual antimicrobial-immunomodulatory activity of Nylexa. Unlike single-target therapy candidates that address only the SARS-CoV-2 virus or the hyperinflammation it can trigger, Nylexa targets multiple drivers of COVID-19 pathology & therefore offers a much greater chance of clinical success.
