We’re pleased to share our next step forward in our sustainability journey at Grampian Fasteners.

We’ve recently added two fully electric vans to our company fleet and installed solar panels at our premises in Dyce. These investments will help us reduce emissions from our local operations while generating renewable energy on-site and lowering our reliance on the national grid.

This is also part of our commitment to working alongside customers who are increasingly focused on sustainability within their own operations and supply chains. By improving the environmental efficiency of our business, we aim to support our customers’ goals while continuing to deliver the quality, reliability, and service they expect from us.

These practical upgrades reflect our commitment to our purpose to help to create an environment where all our families can flourish. The products we supply go into infrastructure and equipment people rely on every day, so it’s important that we also consider the environmental impact of how we run our own business.

We will continue to look for opportunities to improve efficiency and sustainability across our operations as part of our long-term strategy.

It's often best just to keep it simple and it appears to be working.

Huge thanks to Andy and Jamie from Men In Mind for coming in this week and telling the story of how the organisation supports men with all sorts of struggles. It's as simple as turning up.

We'd encourage all companies to help share the message with their teams about the support groups.

We had the pleasure of welcoming The North East Quine along to Grampian Fasteners for a wee tour of the place 👷‍♀️🔩

From a wander around our busy trade shop to a behind-the-scenes look at the warehouse and a catch-up in the offices, it was brilliant to show what goes on day-to-day and the team that keeps everything moving.

There’s a lot more to fasteners than meets the eye – and we loved sharing a glimpse of the hard work, organisation, and banter that make it all happen!

This week is Challenge Poverty Week 2025, a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of poverty in Scotland and explore the ways we can all contribute to ending it.

At Grampian Fasteners, we’re committed to supporting our local community – and in line with Thursday’s theme of “Better Investment in Our Communities,” we’re proud to support AberNecessities, a fantastic local charity based in Dyce, providing essential items to children living in poverty across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

With winter approaching, they are currently in need of:

- Preloved warm clothing, footwear, books, and baby equipment (ages 0–18)
- New/unused baby care essentials (nappies, wipes, formula)
- Toiletries suitable for older children and teens

👉 For those without children’s items to donate, there are still many ways to get involved:

* Ask friends or family if they have suitable donations
* Pick up a few essentials during your next shop
* Purchase directly from AberNecessities Amazon Wishlist or donate online

📦 We’ll be coordinating our own collection in the coming days.
