The countdown is on: in three weeks’ time, you will find us at ROG.e in Rio de Janeiro – the world’s largest energy festival.
We are proud to support Brazil’s multi-sector energy market from our local base, combining in-country knowledge with MDL’s global flex-lay experience – and we have some impressive examples to share with you at the show (such as the one pictured).

They demonstrate how MDL is changing the vessel equation in Brazil: enabling tonnage already available in the region to take on demanding flex-lay and recovery scopes through early engineering and portable, high-capacity technology. This opens up new choices around vessel class, project methodology and the route to offshore ex*****on.

From Peterhead to Stavanger, the North Sea is a shared operating environment with a long history and a windy future. Maximising its potential depends on making full use of the infrastructure, expertise and partnerships already in place.

A recent FPSO intervention delivered through our Peterhead Energy Service Base shows this in practice. When a replacement export hose was required within a demanding schedule, MDL worked alongside the client and supply chain partners to coordinate its inspection, assembly, testing, transpooling and vessel loadout.

Supporting continued returns from existing energy network and developing the port capability required for future projects are closely connected. Both depend on adaptable facilities, proven offshore expertise and cooperation across our shared basin.

This comes from cross-continental support for complex projects! Pictured are two preparatory scopes ahead of a SURF installation in the Caribbean: firstly, transpooling of the product onto a transportation vessel in the UK; then load out of that product onto the client's installation vessel in the USA. And then there's more underway...

That's our Integrated Project Services in action across multiple locations, providing the equipment and expertise required to control handovers, maintain product integrity and eliminate unnecessary downtime from the product's shore base to installation vessel.

From the workshop onto the back deck and into the firing line: this is from the recent project in the Mediterranean where the gooseneck handling system from our previous post was integrated into our hang-off frame and deployed alongside a complete MDL cable lay spread.

Our engineering services on this project extended beyond the provision of the bespoke umbilical termination handling system into deck planning and mobilisation support - but we will share more on this with you soon.
