Steventon Lights Project – Traffic Update

We wanted to give the community an update on the Steventon Lights project and address some questions we've been receiving.

Since January, our site team has made a conscious effort to liaise with the organisers of Truck Festival regarding traffic in the area. Unfortunately, there was very little engagement from their side until last Saturday.

As a result, we have limited our site activities since close of play yesterday, and will continue to do so for the duration of the event, until traffic returns to normal.

We also raised the possibility of signposting alternative routes to help ease congestion. While this was accepted in principle, it doesn't appear to have been followed through.

During the event period, we have maintained two-way traffic throughout the site, with only occasional pauses to allow pedestrians to cross safely. We have not stopped any vehicles for vehicle movements our end. This means traffic has had the same capacity through our site as in previous years, and in theory, the mini roundabout should also be helping to ease congestion from the A34.

To clarify: the traffic lights visible near the roundabout are being operated by the event team, not our site team.
For further context, the queue of traffic was observed stretching back 4.2km from the event entrance to the mini roundabout, which we feel speaks for itself in terms of the traffic management in place. We've also had reports of no traffic management at all on Featherbed Lane.

We hope everyone has a great time at the event, and we'll continue working to keep disruption to a minimum on our end.

Another Sunday shift providing traffic management services in Oxford city centre! 🚦

This weekend we were out ensuring a safe lift for Berry Cranes outside the Ashmolean Museum. With a footway closure in place, the works went on without a hitch.

2026 has been an incredibly busy year for us so far and we're proud to say the work keeps coming! It's a testament to our team's dedication and the trust our clients continue to place in us.

Today our team were out in Oxford city centre delivering traffic management for a precision cabin installation with just an inch to spare on the install itself. With a road closure in place, keeping things moving safely was our priority, with a particular focus on pedestrian segregation and management to protect the public throughout.

Careful planning and clear communication on the ground ensured the operation ran smoothly from start to finish.
