We are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to join our growing team and support the smooth running of our construction projects through warehouse operations, logistics, plant and equipment management, and site support activities.
This is a hands-on and varied role suited to someone reliable, organised, proactive, and comfortable working within a fast-paced construction environment.
π¨ The Role
The Warehouse Operative will support daily warehouse activities, including preparing materials, tools, and plant equipment for site deliveries, assisting with vehicle logistics, maintaining stock and asset records, supporting site set-ups and clearances, and ensuring all plant and equipment is maintained, compliant, and fit for use.
You will work under the direction of the Operations Manager and Directors while supporting site teams across multiple live projects.
π Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Plant / Asset Management
β’ Organise and maintain the warehouse to ensure a safe, tidy, and efficient working environment
β’ Pick, prepare, and stage materials, tools, and equipment for daily site deliveries
β’ Assist drivers with loading vehicles safely and accurately
β’ Scan and track plant, tools, and materials leaving and returning to the warehouse
β’ Support stock control, inventory records, and asset allocation
β’ Maintain plant and equipment to ensure good working order
β’ Carry out inspections on tools and equipment and report defects or servicing requirements
β’ Check returned equipment for damages, faults, or missing items
β’ Carry out basic repairs and PAT testing where appropriate
β’ Assist with arranging external repairs when required
β’ Help ensure all equipment remains compliant, serviced, certified, and site-ready
β’ Maintain maintenance, inspection, and repair records
β’ Act as a key holder for opening and securing the warehouse premises
π Vehicle Fleet & Deliveries
β’ Support the management and maintenance of the company vehicle fleet
β’ Assist with vehicle inspections for cleanliness, roadworthiness, and compliance
β’ Take company vehicles to service appointments and garages when required
β’ Assist with site deliveries and collections
β’ Ensure deliveries and collections are completed safely, accurately, and on time
π Site Logistics, Set-Up & Clearance
β’ Assist with site set-ups and logistics requirements
β’ Support the delivery and collection of fencing, welfare units, signage, materials, and equipment
β’ Assist with site clearances, cleaning, and handovers
β’ Carry out jet washing and cleaning duties on-site and within the warehouse
β’ Help maintain safe, tidy, and operational site areas
π¦Ί Health & Safety
β’ Follow all company health, safety, environmental, and compliance procedures
β’ Conduct routine checks and assist with toolbox talks where required
β’ Ensure safe handling, storage, and transportation of materials and equipment
β’ Report hazards, incidents, damages, or unsafe practices promptly
β’ Wear and maintain appropriate PPE at all times

Skills & Experience Required
β’ Previous warehouse, logistics, construction, plant, or yard experience preferred
β’ Good understanding of construction tools, materials, and plant equipment
β’ Basic repair and maintenance skills desirable
β’ Strong organisational and time management skills
β’ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
β’ Comfortable using scanners, stock systems, or warehouse software
β’ Full UK Driving Licence required
β’ Trailer licence desirable
β’ Forklift licence beneficial (training can be provided)
β’ Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
β’ Hands-on, reliable, and proactive attitude
