AccuBio was pleased to support a successful 3-day Advanced HIV Disease (AHD) training workshop in Burundi, bringing together healthcare workers from 30 health facilities in and around Bujumbura.

The training was facilitated by the Ministry of Health (MOH) through PNLS, in collaboration with the ICAP team, and focused on strengthening the diagnosis and management of Advanced HIV Disease.

Participants received both theoretical and practical hands-on training on the use of the VISITECT® CD4 Advanced Disease test, enabling rapid identification of individuals at risk of advanced disease. The programme also included an overview of LF-LAM testing and the important role of CrAg testing within the AHD care package.

The interactive sessions provided healthcare workers with valuable experience in performing and interpreting tests, helping to build capacity for improved patient care and earlier intervention.

We thank the Ministry of Health, PNLS, ICAP, and all participating healthcare professionals for their engagement and commitment to improving HIV care outcomes in Burundi.

We look forward to continuing this important work, with a second group of healthcare workers scheduled to receive training outside Bujumbura this week.
