Completed in December 2022, this agricultural building measures 36 metres long by 18 metres wide, with an average eaves height of 4.8 metres.

Designed to sit alongside an existing farm shed, the new structure created a substantial increase in the farm’s cattle housing capacity.

It was a practical addition to the site, extending the farm’s infrastructure and providing the additional space needed to support its ongoing operations.

🏗️ 33 Tonnes of Steelwork, Made Right Here in Northumberland!

We’re proud to share this striking project, featuring 33 tonnes of hot-rolled structural steel - all expertly fabricated by our team at our Amble facility.

The building combines practical design with reliable performance. Traditional brickwork forms the lower level, while the upper section uses Trisomet insulated steel panels, selected to achieve the precise U-value required for the building.

One building. Three purposes. 🚜

This agricultural steel portal-frame building at Harbottle Grange was designed to provide three practical spaces under one roof:

✅ Secure grain storage
✅ General-purpose open storage
✅ Dedicated livestock housing

Measuring 36.6 metres long and divided into six bays, the structure incorporates reinforced precast concrete panels, Profile 6 fibre-cement roofing with rooflights and durable box-profile steel cladding.

Internally, the livestock area includes sheep pens, gates and a concrete floor, while the secure grain store features dedicated pedestrian access and an electrically operated roller shutter.

A versatile, purpose-built structure designed around the everyday needs of a working farm.
