In 1923, Junzō Yoshimura decided to become an architect after walking into Frank Lloyd Wright's Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. Yoshimura's career spanned a wide range of projects, from houses to museums. This photo from 1940 is believed to showcase his design for a small tea house and koi pond at Japan House in New York. The serene and elegant design reflects traditional Japanese architecture infused with modern elements.
