This weekend, Nigel, Engineering Maintenance Manager at SAM, is taking on the Norn Iron Ultra 100, an astounding 108 mile run across the North Coast of Antrim, all in support of our charity partner, Children's Burns Trust, a cause that is especially close to our hearts here at SAM 💚
In January 2023, our Sales Coordinator Carol’s daughter, Phoebe, suffered a serious burn accident and continues to receive treatment at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
During this difficult time, Carol found there was very limited support available locally for families going through similar experiences. After reaching out to Children’s Burns Trust, both Phoebe and Carol received invaluable guidance, support and a real sense of connection. Their support became a significant turning point in Phoebe’s journey and recovery.
Through family support weekends, Phoebe has met other children and families facing similar challenges, helping her realise she is not alone and that a strong support network exists for her. Carol now hopes to help establish a support network in Northern Ireland through the Belfast Royal Hospital for Sick Children, so other families can access the same vital support.
Any donation, big or small, towards Nigel’s incredible challenge will help Children’s Burns Trust continue supporting children like Phoebe and their families.
