The UK Procurement Team based in Ashby engaged in a corporate social responsibility activity this week as they wanted to give back to our community on behalf of Konecranes UK; several ideas were discussed and litter picking came out on top.
So, during their lunch break, the team sporting grabbers, gloves and hi-vis waistcoats did their bit in tidying up the local area of the office.
Despite it being a dirty job, everyone agreed what a fun outing it was, not only did they get chance to speak to each other more, but the activity attracted interest from passers-by, including a waste lorry driver who pulled over and allowed the team to throw their rubbish bags in the back of the vehicle, it just shows how positive intentions are infectious!
The whole team got involved all showing different personality traits and skills during the activity; the most diligent of litter picking awards going to Hervette Tipdas (there was not the tiniest scrap of paper safe from picking in her presence) and the most tenacious litter picking award going to Neil Daykin, who found some rather extreme items along the way and took on bramble and bush to dispose of them effectively.
