How we recently saved a customer £1000's!!!

A recent call out to a customers cold store - on arrival we found the refrigerant had leaked. A pressure test located the site of the leak and was repaired, a pressure and strength test was carried out to ensure the leak was repaired and that no other leaks were present.
After vaccing the system and inserting the correct amount of refrigerant, we switched the unit on.

After approximately 30mins, the system shut down on a 'high pressure' fault, we then found the condenser fan motor not working, this is a critical component as it expels the heat removed from the cold store.

After several calls to our suppliers it was evident we would have to wait 1-2 days for a replacement part, the only problem was our customers would lose the entirety of their stock in the meantime (£1000's!) As there was backup storage available.

Quick thinking by our engineers resulted in the 'temporary repair' picture below!

We fixed a large fan to the unit to direct air through the coil, and not only did it work extremely well, but the coldstore held temperature for the following two days until we could return and fit the part, meaning our customer was able to save all their stock with no downtime.

Carrying out a pressure leak test on this production line air-source chilled water system aka a 'chiller' in Hythe this week.

The leak was located, but unfortunately on a non-repairable component.

To minimise our customers downtime we 'popped' to a supplier to collect the part ( a small 100mi+ round trip!)
Returned and replaced the component, system was repaired and handed back over to the client by the end of the day.

The system was up and running by the next day with minimum downtime.
