ECO MEP Golf Day 2026 - completed! ✅

Last week, we held our annual golf day down at . It's our favourite day of the year, some quality time out of the office and a great opportunity to catch up with new and old faces across the industry. Shoutout to our very hard working team that came out to captain the teams around the course too 👊🏼

Thanks to everyone that came to join us to raise some money for Lighthouse Charity. We raised a fantastic £2200!

Mike's been out! 👋🏼

Last week, Mike attended the EKC Canterbury College careers fair!

It was a great opportunity to chat with so many ambitious students about the opportunities that the industry has to offer, and to discuss with faculty about the changes that are shaping career routes into work for young people, and how we as employers can support and develop any new talent 😁

Events like these are always a value to us, as it's a good opportunity to build stronger links between education and the industry - helping the next generation start their career off stronger.

In the world of building services, it’s easy to get excited about products. High-efficiency heat pumps, smart controls, ultra-quiet ventilations units, energy-saving lighting - the list of impressive technologies is ever growing ⚡️🔋

But great buildings aren’t created by great products alone. They’re created by great design.

We always approach projects with a simple philosophy: design first, products second. That doesn’t mean products aren’t important but they should support a well-thought-out design rather than dictate it.

Good design considers the energy efficiency and running costs, future adaptability, maintenance access, system longevity and carbon reduction targets. When the design is right, the building becomes easier to operate.

The most successful projects rely on collaboration, planning and coordination from day one 👊🏼

Typically, MEP design can often be brought into a project too late, especially after key design and structural decisions have already been made. This can create a knock-on effect, limiting innovation, increasing costs and creating delays due to clashes in systems.

Involving key members at the earliest stage possible of your project, before any big design/strategic decisions are finalised, can improve all outcomes for everyone involved. Make sure to establish clear communication, objectives, potential challenges and that everyone is working toward the same goals.

When you involve ECO MEP early in the design stage, we go from being an MEP installer to becoming a strategic design partner, influencing sustainability, efficiency, and constructibility decisions before the project starts 💪🏼
