🏠 What is a PIV (Positive Input Ventilation) System?

A PIV system continuously draws fresh, filtered air into your property from the loft or an external wall. This creates a gentle positive pressure inside the home, forcing stale, humid air out through natural leakage points. By removing excess moisture, a PIV system helps eliminate condensation and prevent mould growth.

🏠 What is an MEV (Mechanical Extract Ventilation) System?

An MEV system uses a central extract unit, typically installed in a loft or cupboard, with ducting connected to wet rooms such as bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms. We are back for our final Meet the Team - 👋 – Introducing Richard!

We’re proud to introduce Richard, director at RB Central Vacuum & Ventilation Systems.

A fully qualified electrician, Richard started his career straight from school, following in his father’s footsteps into the construction industry and joining the family electrical business.

After 16 years in the trade, his passion for energy-efficient systems led him to establish RB Central Systems.

Today, RB Central Systems delivers personalised design and specification of ventilation and central vacuum systems for homes, alongside innovative solutions like the advanced Laundry Jet system. Richard is proud that RB Central Systems was the first company in the UK to install this technology—now that’s impressive 😉

Over the years, Richard has trained and mentored many apprentices and now works proudly alongside his own son, continuing the tradition of passing on skills and experience to the next generation.

Another successful project completed ✔️

We recently completed the full MVHR supply and installation across 4 new-build homes in Croydon for Elmlodge Developments.

After starting the 1st fix back in January, it was great to return last week to complete the final MVHR installation and full system commissioning.

Each property was fitted with a BEAM C-Range MVHR unit, helping to provide excellent indoor air quality while keeping these beautiful new homes energy efficient and comfortable for future homeowners.

A big thank you to Elmlodge Developments for having us involved in another fantastic project. 👍🏻

We’re proud to introduce Carla, co-director of RB Central Systems and the driving force behind the day-to-day running of the business.

Carla manages everything behind the scenes—from overseeing admin and accounts to ensuring engineer job sheets are organised and running smoothly each day. Quite simply, she’s the glue that keeps everything together (and the one making sure the Christmas works night out is one to remember! 😉).

Carla began her career as a veterinary nurse before raising her three children, and later joined RB Central Systems—bringing with her a strong work ethic, organisation, and a genuine passion for people.
