We were called out to this heat pump in Ashford that was throwing out a fault code related to to the refrigerant circuit. Unfortunately on arrival I found that the unit had lost all of its refrigerant due to an unusual leak from the electronic expansion valve. The valve itself couldn’t be repaired, and so a spare had to be ordered. Once it arrived I returned to site to remove the old valve and braze a new one in. After that the unit was pressure tested, put under vacuum to remove any air and moisture, and the correct refrigerant charge was added. The system was then given its annual service and put back into action. Another heat pump repair successfully completed. Being F-Gas registered and having a background in refrigeration means that we can repair faults that many heating engineers can’t or won’t. Breathing some life back into this 10 year old Lailey & Coates today. This customer called us for a service and fault. The unit was serviced thoroughly and the fault was diagnosed, along with some other remedial works that will be required. Returning next week to complete the works, and hopefully keep this heat pump going for a good few years more.
