Making the most of the available roof space meant working the array around the Velux windows, creating an irregular configuration carefully designed to maximise solar generation.

With SolaSkirt installed, the sleek finish turns what could have felt like a complicated layout into a considered feature of the barnhouse. 💫

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀. 🎯

At Eversfield House Hospice, the flat roof includes areas of shading. In the past, that could have had a significant impact on solar performance. Today, with technologies such as panel-level optimisers, it's possible to design a bespoke energy system that works around those conditions rather than being limited by them.

For this installation, we used 𝟳𝟲 𝗗𝗠𝗘𝗚𝗖 𝟰𝟳𝟬𝗪 All Black panels alongside 𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗼 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 with Cloud Connect, allowing each panel to operate independently. This helps minimise the impact of shading and maximise energy generation.

To increase self-consumption and provide greater energy independence, the system is paired with 𝟯 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗕𝗔𝗧𝟭𝟬 batteries, storing excess electricity for when it's needed most.
