Like a lot of farmers, Llyr was looking for support when cows flagged with high temperatures but werenโ€™t obvious antibiotic cases.

We trialled the improved Aspi formulation on his pedigree Holstein herd alongside Smaxtec monitoring.

The goal?
๐Ÿ„ Get cows settled
๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Get them back eating
๐Ÿ” Get rumination and activity back on track

What stood out during the trial was the recovery pattern afterwards.

While the injectable approach reduced temperature rapidly, Llyr observed cows on Aspi showed:

For a long time, dry-off has followed the same thinking: reduce feed, reduce milkings, or dry cows off abruptly.

But both approaches can bring challenges; disruption to normal routines, udder discomfort and often milk leakage on high-yielding cows.

Now, more vets and farmers are starting to question whether dry-off needs to be this disruptive at all.

StopLac Tablets are then administered orally to temporarily modify rumen fermentation and reduce volatile fatty acid production. Studies have shown this can help reduce milk production within 24 hours, supporting a smoother more comfortable dry-off.

With embryo transfer, results matter.
Time, cost and labour all go in before you ever know what youโ€™ll get back.

Getting eggs is one thing.
Getting them to hold is what really counts.

Since being introduced to AHV, James decided to give it a go within his flushing programme.

Recently, 17 embryos were implanted - 14 held.
A noticeable improvement on previous results.

The donor cows receive two boluses, with recipients getting one ahead of the programme.
