Yesterday we were delighted to welcome members of GIN, the joint association for timber nail plate engineering and truss manufacturing in Germany, to our Kirkby-in-Ashfield branch.

The visit was part of the GIN 2026 Autumn Meeting, which is being held across the UK, in collaboration with MiTek UK.

The group was greeted by Chris Williams, Branch Manager, who gave a brief introduction to Crendon Timber Engineering, our history and our range of structural timber solutions. They then toured the factory floor and saw how our Roof Trusses and Posi-Joist metal web joists are manufactured, as well as the production of Spandrel & Gable Panels. The tour also included a look at the site’s Hundegger saw, which supports precision cutting across a wide range of components.

It was a valuable opportunity to share knowledge and exchange ideas with our industry colleagues from Germany. Thank you to MiTek UK & Ireland, KRUG Group CEO Marian Mehlhose, and everyone else who joined us. We hope you enjoyed the visit! 🙌

Our Washington branch is now 100% electric with their plant and equipment⚡

Earlier this month, Combilift delivered a new electric Sideloader to replace our last diesel machine, and this week we were pleased to welcome the Combilift team to see it in action.

This is our latest step in our electrification programme, part of our continued commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our operations.

Our East Harling branch are proud to have donated Timber Frame panels to Rockland United F.C., helping to construct new home and away team dugouts. ⚽️

Following their promotion to the Anglian Combination Football League, the club needed to upgrade its facilities to meet league requirements.

Jack West-Jordan, Branch Manager at Crendon Timber Engineering, East Harling, said: “Rockland United’s promotion is a fantastic achievement, and we’re incredibly proud to support our local community. Best of luck for the season ahead! 🏆”

Tom Clark, Chairman of Rockland United F.C., added: “As a club we rely completely on volunteers and sponsorship, so when Crendon Timber offered to donate their timber materials and design skills for brand new dugouts we were chuffed beyond anything! Huge thanks to Jack and the team for sorting this with us and our manager Vinnie for organising on behalf of our club, Crendon have provided the highest of quality products and service to us, we are beyond grateful - and as you can see, we have made great progress so far.. watch this space for the finished article!"
