Stour Energy is partnered with Hook Norton Low Carbon energy club to bring locally generated renewable electricity to homes and businesses.

Along with the local solar park ‘Wattcrop’ we provide 100% renewable electricity to the club.

The way the energy club has been set up allows the club to pass on savings in the embedded costs on your electricity bill so not only is it green and local, it’s also cheaper!

Ever wondered what anaerobic digestion actually is?

In simple terms, anaerobic digestion is a natural process where food waste and crops are broken down to produce renewable energy. At Stour Energy, we use our home grown crops and farm waste to feed our anaerobic digester, which then produces green electricity for the local community via Hook Norton Low Carbon renewable energy scheme 100Green

Why does it matter locally?

It turns waste into something useful
It generates clean, renewable power close to home
It supports local farming and keeps energy production rooted in the community
It reduces reliance on fossil fuels and cuts carbon emissions

What’s left at the end is digestate, a nutrient rich material that goes straight back onto our farm to help grow the next crops. A true circular system, made on the farm, for the community.
