This weekend, some of motorsport's biggest names won't be on the entry list, they'll be on the circuit map.
British GT visits Donington Park, home to the famous Craner Curves. The section is named after Fred Craner, a motorcycle racer and Derby Motor Club official. He persuaded the owner of the Donington estate to allow racing on the park roads, which eventually became Britain's first permanent park road racing circuit.
Over in Texas, the WEC takes on Circuit of The Americas. Turn one, at the top of the impossibly steep climb, is known as Big Red, named after Texas businessman Red McCombs, the automotive dealer, entrepreneur, and one of the circuit's largest backers when COTA was built.
F1 heads to Monza, where drivers will attack the Variante Ascari, named after two time World Champion Alberto Ascari. Few drivers better symbolise Italy's golden era of motor racing, and his name remains part of every lap at the Temple of Speed.
For most fans, they're just corner names, but every circuit carries its own hall of fame, etched into the tarmac.
And if you'd rather admire remarkable cars at a gentler pace, Concours of Elegance got underway at Hampton Court Palace today and continues throughout this weekend.
