Completed a couple of years ago, this renovation and extension brought together the character of the existing property with a distinctly contemporary addition.

The external envelope was finished in black thermopine cladding from Russwood | Timber Specialists, creating a strong contrast against the original building while allowing the new work to sit comfortably within its surroundings.

Designed by Rachael Walker Architects, the project involved extensive renovation alongside the new extension, with careful attention paid to the junctions between old and new and to the detailing of the external timber cladding.

We’re currently back working next door on another project for the same family. Repeat work and long standing client relationships are something we’re particularly proud of.

We’re pleased to share our new NorDan UK supply & fit page on website.

NorDan now offer customers a complete supply & fit service, allowing homeowners to deal directly with NorDan for both the product and installation.

Sangster & Company are proud to be NorDan’s approved residential installation partner in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, carrying out the installation element of this service on their behalf.

From technical survey and final measurements through to delivery coordination, installation and handover, we work closely with the NorDan team to ensure the process is handled properly from start to finish.

This project involved the construction of a contemporary rear extension, together with structural alterations to open up the existing property and create a bright, open plan kitchen, dining and living space with a new utility area.

Designed to maximise natural light and strengthen the connection between the home and garden, the finished extension complements the existing property while providing a modern family living space.

Project features included Russwood | Timber Specialists 🌲 cladding and NorDan UK windows and doors.

The interior is equally impressive, featuring a beautifully designed kitchen from John Willox Kitchen Design, which we’ll share soon.

The bespoke oak cabinetry at Falls by Orry Shand is a great example of what can be achieved when thoughtful design is paired with skilled craftsmanship.

Beautifully designed by Scarinish Studio, each unit was handcrafted in-house by our joinery team, combining cloak storage, concealed cupboards and open display shelving into one seamless feature. The warm dark finish, subtle lighting and stone detailing create a timeless focal point that is both practical and elegant.

Projects like this are only possible through close collaboration between designer, client and maker and we’re proud to have played our part in bringing the vision to life.

A fantastic result and a credit to everyone involved.

Progress is gathering pace on our latest steading renovation project.

Our joinery team got underway on site this week and it’s great to see the transformation beginning to take shape.

This project involves extensive structural alterations, including the formation of new south-facing openings to maximise natural light, alongside a new first-floor dormer extension that will create additional living space while respecting the character of the original steading.

Elsewhere on the site, we’re converting a separate garage building into a self-contained studio annex, providing flexible accommodation that complements the main home.

It’s still early days, but the timber framing work is already giving a real sense of the finished spaces. We’re looking forward to sharing more updates as this exciting project continues to develop.

Delighted to have visited Falls by Orry Shand with Grant Anderson to capture the architectural and interior photographs of the completed project.

It’s always rewarding to see months of hard work come together and we’re incredibly proud to have played our part in bringing this unique venue to life. The effort, dedication and collaboration from everyone involved to get this project over the line has been exceptional and the finished result is a credit to the entire team.

Wishing the Falls team every success for tonight’s official launch. We’re looking forward to experiencing it ourselves when we visit on Friday.
