Did you catch Craig Wilson making these delicious scones at the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival on Sunday?

Craig’s honey, oat and chia seed summer berry chantilly scones are a modern twist on his Grandmother’s never-fail scone recipe, with a summery makeover.

Craig also shared his top tips for making perfect, light scones:

☑️ Handle the dough as little as possible, and preferably use a mixer to make your scone dough.

☑️ If you’re using a mixer, chill the mixer bowl before using it.

☑️ Make sure the butter is chilled.

☑️  Brush the scones with beaten egg yolk before baking for a lovely golden finish.

🍨Who could resist this amazing Portsoy Sundae?

Created for the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival by Caroline Hay Crawford of Garioch Community Kitchen, this irresistible dessert combines creamy vanilla Portsoy Ice Cream, homemade raspberry coulis, fresh Scottish raspberries and Caroline's amazing raspberry and white chocolate flapjacks, for the ultimate summer treat.

It's a celebration of brilliant local ingredients and proves that a handful of simple components can create something truly special.

We loved working with Kilted Chef Craig at the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival this weekend.

Craig created two new recipes for the festival including this delicious smashed Aberdeen Angus burger in sunflower seed, oat and chilli flatbreads.

Thanks to the Portsoy Pipe Band who entertained visitors around the town all weekend at the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival. We caught them yesterday outside the Food and Drink Zone.

Great cooking and banter from chef Tarragon By Graham Mitchell and Wray Thomson from The Doric Kitchen at the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival.

Graham made Glenglassaugh whisky River Dee Salmon, with Brotchan Roy - Hamlyns Pinhead Oatmeal with leeks - crispy kale, steamed Russet potatoes, and a chive beurre blanc.
