Another good day for there shop refurb. Last few bits tomorrow in the back of house all ready for opening Saturday 😎💪🏼. Thanks to barnard castle for supplying materials and getting them to us on short notice.

🚨 We need your help 🚨

Some of you may have noticed… we’re in the process of converting our outside store into a small wooden Scandinavian-style sauna, set to be ready for Summer 2026 👀

This builds on our roots as a place for health and wellbeing - after all, we began life in 1846 as a people’s dispensary.

We’re now exploring a second phase: creating a private, secluded area in our garden with a plunge pool and hot tub. This would be available for private hire, helping to generate vital income and support the future of the building.

However, our plans have currently been rejected at the planning permission stage…
