What is Singleton Birch Lime?

"It is an essential part of everyday life from taking a ground mineral from the earth to everything you touch and feel on a day to day basis. It is derived from limestone, or calcium carbonate. Here on our Quarry at Melton Ross for the last 215 Years. Our portfolio of lime products are used across many environmental, construction, chemical, metallurgical, and industrial applications, to name but a few. Lime is one of the vital components in the steel-making industry, which then goes into construction and infrastructure across the United Kingdom and beyond. From building bridges, wind turbines and electric vehicles, roads, sewer and water treatment plants. The fastest-growing use of our lime is in environmental applications, where lime is used to comply with air, drinking water, wastewater, and solid waste regulations. We use lime in everything from building houses and roads to helping keep our water clean."

Taking the roof off an anaerobic digester for maintenance?
When performing this essential task, it's crucial to inspect and potentially replace several components to ensure your system runs smoothly and safely. Due to wear and tear or corrosion, keep a close eye on these key areas:
1. Mixers: Vital for maintaining proper digestion, ensure blades, shafts, and bearings are in good condition.
2. Roof Blowers: Essential for gas circulation, check for any signs of damage or inefficiency.
3. Seal Hoses: Critical for airtight seals, inspect for cracks or leaks.
4. De-sulphurisation Nets: Important for gas quality, replace if they’re clogged or worn out.
5. Winches & Cables: Check for fraying or rust – because no-one wants to lose a Submersible mixer to the bottom of the tank if they fail!
