£30 doesn’t even pay you to get to the job

How much should this repair be?

Just seen this in a Facebook Group and some of the comments have left me feeling disappointed

“It’s only a 2 minute job… £30 tops”

“Looks like a dry ridge, do it yourself”

“Do not pay a roofer, they’ll rip you off”

The list was endless … a tirade of abuse towards the industry, and all the experts driving the price to zero

Disgusting

Remember this … about people (and roofers)

This is their livelihood, they have other expenses to pay for other than the time that you perceive that you are buying from them

Roofing is arguably the riskiest trade that there is… you can only ever make one mistake on a roof and it’s game over

Everyone that you call will have a different price, because they are different businesses - this doesn’t mean that the most expensive is a rip off - they’re just more expensive and there’s a big difference

Remember clients - you’re not buying time, you buy the result

Which is a home that’s dry - how much is that worth to you?

I’m not trying to get people to put their prices up, I’m simply raising your awareness that the trades have a living to make and the “rip off” calls are not needed for the vast majority of the industry

Another prime example of the cheapest quote is not always the best quote 🤦🏼 don’t get me wrong I’m not saying the most expensive is better either.

But, surprisingly this chimney is still leaking and now the customer is going to have to pay twice.

Well they say 3rd time lucky, unfortunately for this poor lady it was 4th. Having spent £1000’s and £1000’s and I mean £1000’s of pounds on a new roof from 3 local “ roofers” this is what her completed “NEW ROOF” looked like 😱

If you look at the 1st lot of pictures, this is what she had been left with. The silicone holding the slates on she thought was bird poo 🤦🏼

The final straw for her was when her disabled son was left with an indoor shower literally above his bed and he just laid there all night soaking not knowing what to do. She’s also in a wheelchair so unable to get upstairs to help him out.

No way we could leave them in this situation. We had to rearrange a few jobs so we could squeeze them in and all other customers understood. ( Thank you to them )

But, as you can see he won’t be getting wet ☔️ and we have some very happy customers 😃

6-years tomorrow ( 8th May 2018 ) I took the leap to go on my own and registered Rapid Roofing nw LTD and I’ve never looked back. We’ve grown from strength to strength. 💪🏻

So I’d like to say a massive thank you to all our loyal customers, because without you this wouldn’t be possible. 🙏🏻
