Covid-19 MTU Testing Operative
A1 Traffic Safety Ltd is a well-established, National Traffic Management provider. The company services some of the largest Construction, Civil and Rail companies in the country and is continuing to grow due to demand for service.
We are looking for Covid-19 MTU operatives to work on one of our major contracts in the Carlisle area. You will be assisting in one of the COVID drive through Test Centers that operates strict COVID guidelines to ensure the safety of the public entering the site, along with the candidates working to assist them.
The role is to direct traffic in and out of a testing site along with other duties such as:
Making up testing kits,
Distributing the testing kits to members of the public
Collecting the test once they have been completed following Covid-19 safety measures.
Cleaning Down work areas in accordance with COVID restrictions
The shift pattern for the works will be 4 on 4 off day shifts on a Rota basis,
Minimum 8 hour paid shift, even if placed on standby at home.
Opportunity for additional shifts for overtime as the site will be running 7 days per week.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic candidates to take up the ongoing role as a self-employed operative and training will be completed on site by the induction team.
As part of the Mobile Testing Units, you will be expected to travel to the sites in your own vehicle.
Sites are usually an average of 30 -90 mins from the base, which is where the travel is calculated from. You can travel direct from your home with no need to attend the base.
You will be paid from when the MTU van leaves the RTS at Sheffield Meadowhall to go out to location, till when the van gets back to Sheffield Meadowhall from location.
This is working outdoors and requires the candidates to dress appropriately for the current weather conditions. A full UK driving license and own means of transport is essential.

Salary: £9.50 per hour
