How warm is the UK right now? 🥵
Have you considered that even outdoor sporting venues need a good HVAC system?🎾🌡️

Whilst we all understand why indoor events require HVAC systems for:

🌡️Heat mitigation:
Rising temperatures in late spring increase the need for cooling systems in large venues to prevent heat stress for athletes and spectators.

💦Dehumidification:
Large indoor venues often require humidity control to maintain optimal air quality and protect floors.

🌀Ventilation:
Sports halls need adequate fresh air ventilation (roughly 60 m³/h per athlete and 20 m³/h per spectator).

🔬System testing:
Before the summer season begins, many venues require air quality tests for bacteria after heating systems have been dormant.

This Sunday sees the inaugural Giordano Riello run to be staged in the heart of Legnago, Verona, Italy; celebrating the life of a truly inspiring entrepreneur 🎇

The event ⏱️🎽🏁was born of an idea by Giordano Riello Jr., shared, supported, and encouraged by the entire family.

It commemorates the great man and entrepreneur Giordano Riello, who, with his vision and lifelong work, left a profound mark, not just in Italy but worldwide🌍

There are 3 classifications: a 10.2km race, a non-competitive run covering the same distance and a 5.1km family fun run.

This May, during Mental Health Awareness Week, it’s worth reflecting on the people who work in the HVAC industry.

Statistics relating to HVAC only is hard to find since large-scale studies such as those by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) or industry bodies like the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), often group HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians into "skilled trades" or "building finishing trades".

The pressures, however are just as real:
Key findings from the report show high levels of poor mental health with 94% experiencing stress over the past year, 83% experiencing anxiety and 60% experiencing depression.

This European Commission article explains how the rapid expansion of AI-driven data centres is significantly increasing energy use, carbon emissions and water consumption.

Addressing these issues, new research proposes to repurpose low-grade waste heat generated by data centres. Instead of being discarded, this heat could be used in sustainable processes such as thermal water purification and direct air capture (DAC) of CO₂ and will effectively transform data centres from resource-intensive facilities into systems that can become ‘water-positive’ and ‘carbon-negative’.
