Black Country Ales in Dudley.
We were the first to work on these wooden fermentation vats many years ago to enable them to be brought back into working condition after decades of locked away and not used.

We were pleased to been invited back to the brewery again to carry out this current renovation of the internal lining to these vats.

I will add photos from the original work after those of the current works carried out in October 2023.

Really pleased to see the continued grow and success of the brewery which now has over 50 pubs and we understand they are planning to buy more pubs to add to their portfolio.

Next week we are travelling back out to Papua New Guinea again for the next stage of our work there.

This stage of the work is expected to take between two and three months to complete and we will be working on another four bulk fuel tanks for the Niugini Oil Company.

We’re we’re also in PNG this time last year working on another project for the same company.

We have been working with Niugini oil since our initial contact from them in 2009 when they approached us for assistance with there bolted sectional fuel tank which were seeping fuel via the joints.

These tanks had been built in the 1960’s on land with known strong symsmic activity and had been subject to, and continued to be, subjected to regular earth quakes in the region.

We developed a tank lining system that would work with these hostil conditions.

13 years later, the tanks we first tanks we worked on are still holding up well.

The tank lining system we delveloped for this project had a design life of 20 years, but is expected to last for around 30 to 40 years.

Harvey’s Brewery, Lewes, East Sussex.

We are back at the brewery again to work on another room of glass lined storage tanks to extend their working life.

6 tanks will be repaired with localised patch repairs, 1 additional tank will have all of the glass completely removed together with all the old existing patch repairs and then after cleaning, then apply the new tank lining which is a solvent free epoxy resin.

The new lining material is certified and approved for use with alcoholic beverages and works with all standard/normal brewery cleaning practices.

Recent works this month include stopping ingress of water into a fibreglass black water tank near Reading in an area of exception high water table.

Our work for the Niugini Oil Company in Lae, Papua New Guinea for is going well. And almost completed our main works for this visit.

More tanks are planned to be worked on in early 2023.
I believe we are probably one of the only companies who have a tank lining system that can potentially last for over 25 plus years!

Whilst here we are also discussing sealing the perimeter walls of the secondary containment bunds on the site.

The first bundled area has a pair of 5,000,000 litre diesel fuel tanks.

Other bundled areas on the site hold a mixture of fuels including unleaded petrol, diesel and kerosine.

It is probable that these bund walls will need treating in the future too.

We have treated many of these in the past and also used this same system for sealing / lining wet concrete and brick water chambers.

We have a specialised epoxy resin based system that can be applied to wet or damp concrete.

The Global Services division of Specialist Coating (GB) Ltd are currenting working on another project in PNG. (Papua New Guinea).
The first item in the schedule are a pair fire hydrant tanks at a fuel importer tank farm in Lae.

After this we will be coating the floor and lower wall of a number of large bulk fuel tanks.

The work is expected to take a a number of site visits and around12 months to compete using a combination of local labour and specialist technical engineers from the UK.

My son has been working on his bathroom and yesterday I installed a clear resin floor for him to encapsulate the coins.

The resin is between 2mm and 3mm. In thickness. We can check the exact thickness one the resin has full hardened.

Quiet effective I thought.

I would like to add that I’m really impressed with my son’s work on the tiling. 12 months ago he had never done any tile work ever before and I enjoyed showing him how to do it, in a different room. All the tiling and coin laying is all his own work.

How many coins were used?
Just for fun it would be interesting to see who can guess the closest to the actual number of coins used on this floor. Those who actually know the correct number are not eligible for this.
