With Head Office based in Johannesburg, Sling Aircraft is a Manufacturing Organisation which designs, manufactures and markets the highly acclaimed Sling range of light aircraft and light aircraft construction kits. Our first aircraft, the Sling 2, is a 2-seat light aircraft which we spent 4.5 years developing and is currently available in two models, the Sling 2 and Sling Taildragger. Following t

he worldwide success of the Sling 2, we then developed a 4-seat variant, the Sling 4, which was launched in 2011, followed by the award-winning Sling TSi, a high-performance, turbo sport injected variant of the Sling 4 which was launched in 2018. More recently, we launched our all-new Sling High Wing which features all the great Sling handling characteristics combined with the inherent stability of the classic high wing design. An outstanding 4 place high-performance aircraft, the Sling High Wing is available in tricycle and taildragger variants. Sling Aircraft is represented globally across six continents via our distributor network and to date we have sold more than 700 aircraft.

Congratulations to Air Cdre Alistair Seymour on achieving Night/IFR approval for the first UK Sling TSi—a significant accomplishment that reflects months of dedication, technical expertise, and determination.
Working through a demanding certification process, Al drew on over 32 years of Royal Air Force experience in operations, flight test, instruction, intelligence, and capability development to build a compelling safety case that ultimately secured approval. It's a remarkable achievement not only for his own aircraft, G-SLPC (Single Lever Power Control)—the first UK Sling TSi fitted with the RS Flight Systems Single Lever system—but also for future Sling builders across the UK.
Even more impressively, Al has produced comprehensive guidance to help future Sling TSi builders ensure their aircraft meet the requirements for Night/IFR certification, with particular focus on the aircraft's longitudinal stability and the importance of smooth, friction-free elevator control linkages. This valuable guidance will also be incorporated into a future release of the Sling TSi Fuselage KAI, benefiting the entire Sling community.
