For over 50 years Gray & Sons Builders Ltd have developed a comprehensive portfolio of clients from a broad range of industries. Delivering every time. We undertake all types of construction and infrastructure projects and have carried out a large range of building projects including industrial commercial buildings, residential housing, educational facilities, refurbishment, design and build, care

home facilities, hospital facilities, highways works and bridge demolition/re-construction. We carry our own fleet of vans, HGV Lorries and have a large selection of plant for our own ground works division including 360/180 excavators, dumpers, skip lorries and small plant which is all maintained from our Bedford yard. We have an established reputation in collaborating with multi-disciplined design teams in both the private and public sectors and have turned over an estimated of £300 million pounds since 1969. Our Directors, Patrick and Martin Gray both have over 35 years’ experience in the industry and have a great knowledge of all aspects of construction, from housing developments to design and build contracts. We have a dedicated in house project team consisting of Contract Manager’s, Site Managers, Estimators, Surveyors, Buyers and a highly skilled field of personnel to satisfy the requirements of each individual project. We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join our team at Gray & Sons Builders Ltd in Bedford.
You will provide administrative support to both the Commercial & Residential Teams, under the management of the Operations Manager.
To be suitable for the role, you must have previous experience of working in either an Administrative or Secretarial type role, ideally being based in construction but this is not essential.
Responsibilities:
• Managing day-to-day administrative tasks within the office.
• Meeting and greeting clients at reception.
• Answering and forwarding internal and external phone calls.
• Consistently maintaining excellent customer service standards by promptly responding to customer enquiries and complaints.
• Sending out tender enquires for the Surveyors & Estimators
• Assisting Senior Management team with clerical tasks.
• Diary & Calendar Management for Senior Team.
• Office Management, including regular H&S monitoring checks, regular food and toiletry shops, organising fire drills and weekly fire alarm checks
• Ordering and keeping track of stationary.
• Receiving, sorting and distributing daily mail/deliveries.
• Taxing work vehicles.
• Creating O&M Manuals for clients.
• Creating presentation folders for meetings.
• Managing and booking events for the company.
• Filing relevant information in employee personnel files, archiving, and vehicle folders.
• Updating Social Media platforms.
Essential Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skill
• Accurate eye for detail
• Good IT and administrative skills
• Flexible approach
• Must be a driven individual who is used to working in a team
• Ability to work on their own initiative
• Driving License
Desirable Skills:
• Experience working in construction environment.
• Marketing Experience
