🏡 OAK LODGE | LOFT CONVERSION 🔨
Another exciting project underway for the ZINK team!
With a growing family desperately needing more space for the kids, the solution was to make use of the existing loft and turn it into some much-needed living accommodation.
Working alongside Beeston Architectural Services, a clever design has been put together that allows us to convert the existing trussed roof without the need for structural steelwork!
We’re also working alongside the lads at HIGH LEVEL CARPENTRY & JOINERY LTD , who have been helping us bring this project together. 🔨
Instead of traditional steelwork, we’re constructing structural plywood box beam walls within the eaves, allowing us to safely remove the required truss sections and open up the loft space.
It’s not quite as straightforward as it sounds, though! The new staircase area has had to be taken right down to the original oversite to construct a new load-bearing wall, providing the structural support needed for the ply box beam walls above.
Once complete, this previously unused loft will provide:
🛏️ Two brand-new bedrooms
🛁 A family bathroom
🪜 A new staircase providing access from the existing first floor
A fantastic way to gain valuable living space without extending the footprint of the property!
