⚡Powering Major Infrastructure
A look back at one of M&M Contractors’ major DNO HV infrastructure projects, supporting the connection for a major Motorway Service Area in the South of England.
Spanning over 6km and crossing multiple boroughs, the project required significant coordination between councils, highways teams, stakeholders and our delivery teams to keep works progressing safely and efficiently.
The scope included the delivery of dual 33kV circuits, fibre infrastructure, joint bays, chambers, HDD and associated civils, with sections of the route passing through busy highways and constrained residential areas.
Beyond the technical delivery, projects of this scale are about managing the complexities that come with major infrastructure works — coordinating permits, traffic management, local authorities and multiple work fronts while maintaining programme.
As demand from EV charging, transport, Grid reinforcement/ expansion, data and renewable energy continues to grow, projects like this demonstrate the critical infrastructure required behind the transition to electrification.
