Distinguished Homes have recently completed the refurbishment & extension of this detached 4-bed family dwelling in Cultra. The addition of a contemporary single storey side and rear wrap around extension, delivered a bright and spacious open plan kitchen/living/dining space which was lacking in the original layout.

Stepped glazed corners were an essential part of the design to maximise solar gain by following the path of the sun and creating a strong visual connection to the garden beyond 🌳.

Distinguished Homes are proud to be registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme which aims to improve the image of the Construction Industry in a practical way. On our most recent audit at our site in Millisle we obtained a score of 40 out of 45 achieving a grade of Excellent in each category ‘Respect for the Community’, ‘Care for the Environment’ & ‘Value their Workforce’. We’e been that busy we forgot to post this stunning new build 🤩! Another Distinguished Home 🏡 successfully handed over earlier in the year in Craigavad. This house achieved an A 96% EPC rating and is fully run from a Grant Aerona3 Air Source Heat Pump, underfloor heating throughout, PV panels with hot water inverter, car charger and battery storage for harbouring any surplus power produced. With no gas/oil the running costs of this new home are minimal.

And that’s a wrap 🎬! With a busy start to the new year we nearly forgot to post this spectacular home handed over in time for Christmas 🎅🏼 🎄!!! This 3,500 sq/ft 4 bedroom property is fully powered by a Grant Air Source Heat Pump with underfloor heating throughout on both the ground and first floors. It is further enhanced with 14 solar panels, hot water inverter, 30kw battery storage and two fast car charging points. We were proud to say this achieved an EPC rating of A97! Without the need for gas or oil this home will cost around £150-£200 per month to run which includes charging the families electric vehicles.

Distinguished Homes are proud to announce, in addition to our Safe-T-Cert accreditation this week, we successfully achieved NVIR-O-CERT accreditation. NVIR-O-CERT has been developed by the Construction Employers Federation (CEF) and is supported by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) and the leading environmental professional body, the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).

The scheme provides a route for smaller construction companies to achieve environmental accreditation whilst helping larger companies to distinguish themselves as environmental leaders. The scheme aims to keep paperwork to a minimum and instead focuses on good environmental performance in practice on sites. This accreditation shows Distinguished Homes commitment to preserving & protecting our natural environment whilst building our clients bespoke homes 🏡🌳🦨🦇🐦‍⬛♻️

Distinguished Homes demonstrated their 100% commitment to improving Health and Safety Management in the workplace by being awarded Safe-T-Cert Certification this week. Safe-T-Cert is a scheme designed for certification of the Safety Management Systems of contractors working in the construction industry. Commitment to Health and Safety may begin at management level however it needs to be delivered throughout every aspect of our business. Being awarded the Safe-T-Cert accreditation provides our customers and employees with reassurance of our Management’s dedication to striving for zero incidents in the work place.

Last week we were delighted to be able to hand over another of our bespoke homes on our Ballymoney Road site. As with all our sites the customer has the freedom to add their personal touch by selecting their kitchen, bathrooms, tiles and carpets. Some fantastic choices were made with this one. We even got the bath and sink in the master en-suite painted to the customers choice of colour 😍. I think you’ll agree this turned out a fabulous home 🏡. A big thanks goes to our architect Colin McAuley from CMP.
