Message from Marty and Joe as a warning of bad weather is approaching. There will be a lot of calls with people running out of gas, or hitting the 15 units which locks the meter out. Gas credit does not last as long as it used to, scary price these days, and goes so quick in the colder days. Few simple things to do before thinking your boilers packed in. If the boiler shows a fault code, get the book out and check it, or just as easy to Google it, if you can. If your not able ask your son , daughter or carer im sure they will help .If it's a Vaillant f28, Baxi e133, Ideal L2, Vokera A01, Worcester EA, Glowworm f28.....these usually (most of the time) mean you've ran out or locked up meter. Go to meter and hit red button.....if it says 15 Off you've locked it out. Put your gas card in and hold in black button until it beeps...then go reset boiler. If it's out completely with 0 credit you'll need to go get some credit , put it in, and do the same sequence above. If code continues then unfortunately its something more sinister, but the majority of calls we should be able to help you get sorted while on the phone. Turn your stat down on wall or timer, and the trvs on the radiators.....this will save you money and make gas last longer. Also if you are getting a gurgling noise from the boiler, and its cutting out, its usually a frozen condensate pipe outside. Check where it goes into drain and work back.
