The end of ECO4 in December 2026 is going to leave a bigger gap in the industry than many people are prepared for.
Over the past few years, a significant number of businesses have been built purely around funded work. Now, with no ECO5 on the horizon, that model is coming to an abrupt stop. The challenge is clear: transitioning from selling a fully funded measure to asking homeowners to invest their own money is not something every company has been able to do.
Unfortunately, we’re already seeing the impact. Some businesses have ceased trading, and more will likely follow as the deadline approaches.
It’s a difficult situation, especially for the people behind those businesses and the staff affected by it. But while the market is shifting, there are still opportunities for those with the right mindset and experience.
We’ve taken a different approach from the start. For the past 8 years, we’ve focused entirely on private, paid-for work and have never relied on grant-funded schemes. As a family-run business, that consistency has allowed us to build something stable that isn’t impacted by the end of ECO4.
If you’ve been affected by these changes - whether you’re an installer, surveyor, or part of an office team, feel free to send us a DM. We’re always open to speaking with experienced people who want to continue working in the industry.
It’s a tough moment for many, but it doesn’t have to be the end of the road.
