28 women. One full room. A lot of honest conversation.

On Friday I went to the second Women in FMB meeting, sponsored by Buildscout and hosted by Nicola de Sousa at the beautifully reimagined Quaglino's.

Project managers, ops, interior designers, founders and more. Our roles were all different, but our experiences were remarkably alike.

We celebrated the wins. We talked openly about what hasn’t worked - and there's where the real value is! We all left feeling re-energised, supported and seen, in an industry that still doesn’t always notice how much women contribute to its success.

When you’re working with a tight plot with only one way in, every delivery, every material movement, every phase of the build has to be thought through before it happens - not on the day.

Covid threw new rules at construction sites almost monthly.

Honouring projects or practices in Oxford that exemplify sustainable construction and design. Nominees should showcase innovation in energy efficient design, renewable materials, low impact construction and eco-friendly building techniques.

Their efforts should contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of structures while providing aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces.

It is a category that recognises the full picture, not just the technology or the materials but the approach, the intent and the outcome.

If you are an architect, designer or developer working on projects in Oxford or Oxfordshire that meet that standard, this award was written for you.

Delighted to share that our co-Director has been elected to represent the Southern Counties of the Federation of Master Builders.

Fabulous evening with Chef .randall at for the latest Bicester’s Village Supper Club hosted this time by .

We sat out on the terrace for an aperitivo in the sun before enjoying a menu that was light, refreshing, reflective of the spring season and paired with beautiful w**e.

As Bicester locals, the Supper Club is an absolute treat for us, amazing guest chefs taking over the restaurants for the evening - we almost don’t want to talk about it!

I can’t wait to try out some of the recipes in the book, and we came away with goodie bags full of the industry acclaimed pasta that La Tua is famous for. If you haven’t been, you must try it and if you’d like to know more about the Supper Club and how to get involved, drop a comment below!

Yesterday I found myself the most amazing room at the launch of Women in FMB. A room of smart, capable women being honest about what it takes to run a construction business, operate in what is still a very male dominated industry, carry responsibility and keep showing up - my imposter syndrome was in full flow!!

The conversation was led by the amazing from The Power Within who got us talking about the highs and the hard bits. Nicky pointed out that no one has ever died from a bit of discomfort and I’ll be taking that thought forward with me to push myself out of my comfort zone more regularly!

The honesty with which stories were shared and the similarities and synergies of our experiences really resonated. A room full of women who have carved a path, either on their own or in support of their partners, into a very male dominated industry who aren’t afraid to lead with confidence.

Thank you to for bringing us all together for the start of something that feels like it’s going to be really special.
