Hi All, as requested by here are some quick screen grabs of three different heat pumps and the real efficiencies they run at. In this case the SPF correlates to COP, these heat pumps have a built in flow meter and a built in electric meter which puts this information together for the user!
On example 1 we can see COP 4.15 for heating and a COP 3.97 for HW, example 2 we can see 5.36 COP for heating and a 4.89 COP for HW and example 3 we see COP 5.88 for heating and 4.84 COP for HW. These are obviously an average for the total lifetime of the heat pumps, I believe example 1 was installed in 2019 and is part of a cascade. Example 2 was installed in 2020 and example 3 was 2021. Another day, another problem solved by the Energien Team!
This time a potentiometer issue with a grate sensor on an ETA eHACK boiler. This issue had been missed by previous engineers but it appears that due to slightly incorrect rebuild by another, the spacer on this sensor was about 1” too long, which was causing the metal cover lid to put additional strain on the sensor itself.
It always helps to not only diagnose the issue but also the cause.
