Position: Welding and Workshop Operative
Based in Biggar, Atlas Winch & Hoist Services is a growing and respected business specialising in winches, hoists, and lifting equipment. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and practical individual to join our team as a Welding and Workshop Operative.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with fabrication, welding, or general workshop experience to become part of our team.
Based at our workshop and yard facility in Biggar, this is a varied, hands-on role involving a wide range of activities, including:
• Welding and fabrication work
• Maintenance and repair of winches, hoists, and trailers
• Assembly and testing of equipment
• General workshop and yard duties
• Occasional site work and equipment installations
Applicants do not need to be time-served, however, relevant practical experience is preferred. Further training will be also be provided.
This is a permanent, full-time position.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience within a fabrication, welding, engineering, manufacturing, or general workshop environment
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, advantageous but not essential
• A full UK driving licence
• A practical approach with strong attention to detail and quality of workmanship
• Flexibility and willingness to undertake a variety of workshop and yard-based duties
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A self-motivated, positive, and proactive attitude
• A good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a workshop environment
Please note that although this is primarily a workshop-based role, occasional driving, site work, overnight stays, and travel abroad may be required.
