Last year, we had the pleasure of installing three sets of swift folding doors at the new Performance Lab at Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey. ⛳🏌🏻

Each door is manually operated in four leaves, with two leaves folding to each side, clear of the opening. Oversized vision panels on each leaf enhance natural light and contribute to the building's aesthetics, which have been designed to blend in with the surrounding woodland. 🌳🍂

Last month, several of us from the office, usually confined indoors, took advantage of a unique opportunity to see Jewers Doors largest hangar door project in the UK!! ✈

Our journey led us to the British Airways Fleet Support Unit at Heathrow Airport, where we marvelled at the completed doors on the north side and observed the team's progress on the second set of doors on the south side of the hangar. 🤩🙌

Notably, each side features 10 door leaves, each an impressive 9 metres wide by 21 metres high.

A special thank you to Trevor Cahill MCIOB from the Mace Group for generously giving up his time to guide us around this magnificent hangar and the BA Engineering Team for all their hard work. 💪🚧

Exciting news from Jewers Doors! 🌟

Teaming up with Mace Group and Arup, we secured a prestigious contract for British Airways Fleet Support Unit at Heathrow Airport. The project involves the safe removal of the existing hangar doors and the supply and installation of two new sets of Esavian 126-SBR power operated steel sliding hangar doors. ✈✈

The first set, located on the north elevation, is now fully operational after successful installation and commissioning. Progress is swiftly moving ahead with the second set on the south elevation. 🙌

These impressive doors are no small feat, with each set configured as 10 equal leaves, each leaf measuring approximately 9 metres wide by 21 metres high and weighing a substantial 17.5 tonnes.

Congratulations to the British Airways Engineering team, the Property team, and everyone involved in this remarkable achievement!

The hangar is truly taking shape and looking absolutely stunning. 🛫🤩

This week, our Specification Manager, George Hutson, had the opportunity to travel to The City of Allen in Texas to inspect a recently completed Fire station project.

Teaming up with VAI Architects and the Overhead Door Company of Denison, we successfully supplied 5 sets of Swift fully glazed doors (SWT-E-FG) to the newly constructed 'Allen Fire Station #6'. 🚒🧯

The Swift electrically operated doors boast rapid opening speeds, achieving full openness in under 6 seconds, a crucial time-saving aspect in emergency situations.
