“Get Britain building”: Kwarteng cuts stamp duty in efforts to reverse construction slump.

The Chancellor has announced a double in stamp duty threshold from £125,000 to £250,000 and from £300,000 to £425,000 for first time buyers.

Stamp duty will be abolished altogether on purchases of new land and buildings for new residential development in specific zones.
