🌍 Today HMRC released data on the number of importers and exporters for the calendar year of 2023 🌍

🔑 Key takeaways when comparing the results to 2022:

• A 2% fall in the number of businesses who import or export to any country
• An increase (1%) in the number of businesses moving goods to or from non-EU countries
• A 4% decrease in the number of businesses moving goods to or from EU countries
• A 3% rise in the number of businesses exporting (but not importing) goods to both EU and non-EU countries
• 98,061 businesses (28% of 356,559 2022 total) who moved goods in 2022 did not move goods in 2023
• 91,609 businesses moved goods in 2023, however didn't in 2022
