Our motto is ‘Reduce Energy and Carbon. Save Money.’ We try to abide by this in everything we do.

This is one of the main reasons why we obtain the fittings for our lighting projects directly from . Their products are sourced from British suppliers, which majorly reduces carbon footprint.

For Example, we often use their Force 22 Edge fitting for our school projects, which has a carbon footprint total of just 102 miles. To put that into perspective, carbon footprint would be 6000+ miles if imported from China!

Switching to LED lighting is usually the first step taken when looking to reduce energy consumption and here's why...

In the initial building process lighting is often overlooked.
However, over the years of operation, it creates the most emissions. Subsequently, this means it uses a large amount of energy causing pollution and costly energy bills.

Although you may think you’re saving money by purchasing cheap lighting initially, in the long run, it will cost you and the environment more!

DID YOU KNOW...

For a standard household to run a string of 700 incandescent lights for 6 hours per day through December, the cost of electricity would be £8.94.

Meanwhile, LED lights would drop the price down to around 90p!

LED lights provide energy savings of up to 90% compared to conventional incandescent bulbs. This is because the latter has a filament and about 90% of the energy they produce is wasted as heat.

We can’t stress enough the advantages of LED lights for energy consumption, carbon reduction and cost efficiency.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has stated that UK firms and financial institutions will be forced to show how they intend to hit climate change targets, under proposed treasury rules.
By 2023, they will have to set out detailed public plans for how they will move to a low-carbon future - in line with the UK's 2050 net-zero target.
Once large firms are tackled, the pressure will be put on SME’s to make sure they’re also doing their part.

We recently went to the site of Park Lane Fencing to check up on the lighting upgrade we did for them.
 
After completing an internal project 18 months ago, using Flick Lighting’s LIBERTY fitting, which utilises the latest in high efficiency Samsung LED chip technology; Park Lane Fencing’s next challenge was their external lighting
 
PLF had previously replaced their external flood lighting with imported products that didn’t achieve lighting levels and ultimately failed. They chose Flick as they appreciated that we are a local business that only uses products made in Britain.
With 5 am starts, it is crucial that the staff at PLF can clearly see when loading for the day ahead, which is why they chose Flick's BENTLEY flood lights with lumen outputs up to 31900 delivered lumens and efficacy at up to 127 Ll/cw.
 
‘Opening at 5 am when it’s still dark out is not longer an issue, with our new external flood lighting it’s almost like working in daylight anyway. I would absolutely recommend Flick’
