For this , we’re looking back to 18 June 2025 when we launched the ASPIRE programme!
ASPIRE is a GKN-led £12 million collaborative UK R&D programme co-funded by the ATI. Leveraging our 30 years of composite expertise, this project builds lighter, highly efficient aircraft structures for next-generation flight.
Over its 3-year timeline, the programme is successfully:

* Testing three full-scale composite wingtip variants
* Developing a novel composite flap using advanced automation
* Prioritising sustainability and next-gen manufacturability

The countdown is officially on with exactly five weeks left until kicks off! We are shaking things up this year. Instead of our usual pavilion, GKN Aerospace is hosting guests in a brand-new space at Chalet C231–233 on Row B .From 20–24 July, our teams will be on-site and ready to catch up, spark new collaborations, and drive conversations around the future of more sustainable flight with our valued customers, suppliers, and industry peers. to 28th May 2026 when Sweden and Ukraine took the next step with plans for Ukraine to acquire up to 20 Saab Gripen E/F, alongside a potential donation of up to 16 Gripen C/D. As the OEM and Type Certificate holder for the RM12 engine powering the Gripen C/D, and strategic partner for the RM16, GKN Aerospace is proud to ensure total availability, reliability, and airworthiness for Gripen operators worldwide from our team in Trollhättan.

With just over six weeks to go until , the countdown to the Farnborough International Airshow is well underway.
This year, GKN Aerospace will be located in Chalet C231–233 on Row B, moving from our traditional pavilion setup. From 20–24 July, we look forward to connecting with customers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.

As we celebrate Learning at Work Week in the UK, it’s a great moment to reflect on what learning and development really mean in practice across our global organisation.
Two years ago, we spoke with Olivia in Trollhättan, Sweden. At the time, she was leading the Chemistry Lab and shared what mattered most to her:
"In my opinion, I have the possibility to develop and to learn. What I like most of all is that the company is very supportive—that I can express my thoughts, my opinions, and ideas for improvement."
Fast forward to today, and Olivia is now an Engineering Team Lead.

🔙 , a year ago on 19 May 2025, we announced our role as a partner in ICEFlight (Innovative Cryogenic Electric Flight), a project launched by Airbus (via its Tech Hub in the Netherlands and Airbus UpNext) with local partners, under the Dutch Luchtvaart in Transitie (LiT) programme.
Together, we’re accelerating cryogenic technologies for hydrogen-powered flight including hydrogen systems, electrification, power network design and cryogenic applications.
