Are you the Experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer we are looking for?

We have an exciting and varied opportunity for a fully qualified plumber to join our team as our in-house mechanical maintenance engineer. The role promises the right applicant a long term and secure career in plumbing within a well recognised and established M&E firm who has served the construction industry for well over 35 years.

Mainly specialising within the multi residential new build construction industry, the ideal candidate would be attending varied plumbing issues that may arise within our main contractors' defect liability period. Our minimum requirements is for you to hold a Blue CSCS card, however a Gold CSCS card holder is preferrable. A company van is provided for this role. The successful applicant must have their own set of tools and work well as part of a team as well as independently.

Whilst you will predominantly be based on one of our live sites, you will deal with daily maintenance issues when required and you will also be expected to play a part in the out of hours rota (every other week) whereby most faults can be rectified over the telephone, you will however be rewarded additional financial benefits for time spent on call.

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour depending on experience.

WE ARE RECRUITING - ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

A new and exciting opportunity for a junior/intermediate Electrical Design Engineer will be offered to the candidate who wishes to pursue a long term career in electrical building services design.

Ideally, you will have experience and knowledge of working as an individual or as part of an electrical building services design team for an M&E contractor or consultant.

Duties include:
• Designing to performance specifications and using the latest British Standards, CIBSE guides, Building Regulations and relevant design guides.
• Producing detailed electrical design documents such as layout drawings, sections and elevations of coordinated MEP systems, LV and Comms schematics, cable calculations and lighting calculations.
• Excellent and professional communication skills
• Attending design team meetings with main contractors, architects, consultant engineers and other sub-contractors.
• Working under the supervision/guidance of a senior electrical designer.
• Communicate with the mechanical design engineers to produce detailed designs within a timely manner.
• Experience in the following Software:
o Amtech/Trimble cable calculations
o Relux or Dialux
o AutoCAD
o Revitt
• A dedicated team player

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year

Experienced Design & Build Electrical Estimator Required to Join Our Team

We are an established, dedicated and recognised mechanical and electrical services company with a proven track record of working within the construction industry for over 30 years. Based at Birmingham Business Park, we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design & Build Electrical Estimator to join our specialised team of professionals on a permanent basis.

Our ideal candidate will have basic electrical design knowledge, be familiar with our competitive advantages as an organisation and have proven and relevant experience of previously working on building services multi-residential projects with view to securing new business; particularly in the construction of retirement homes, student accommodation and PRS apartment schemes.

Roles & Responsibilities
• Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding processes
• Obtain accurate and competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers to evaluate and establish precise cost estimates
• Discuss and apply given overheads including labour constraints, profit percentage and main contractors’ discount and input research data onto estimate sheet(s) to finalise a quotation and to produce a sell figure
• Ensure timely completion of estimates and produce detailed electrical tender bids
• Liaise closely with the mechanical estimating team to ensure compliant combined M&E tender documents
• Attend pre, mid and post tender meetings.

Key Skills
• Capability to examine plans with a minimum of 3 years' of multi-residential experience preferred
• Excellence in organisational, communicational and IT skills
• Experienced in the use of estimating software including the management of a supporting product data base
• A proactive attitude with enthusiasm who is committed to working to tight deadlines
• Initiative and drive to collate, analyse and present complex information key to the commercial success of the business
• Have the ability to both work within a team, making the best use of internal resources and also autonomously

The ideal candidate should be highly skilled with extensive knowledge of the mechanical industry with previous experience of running Multi Residential new build projects.

Responsibilities
• Managing direct staff and specialist mechanical subcontractors.
• Receive site specifications from estimator.
• Attend meetings based on pre-orders, with clients and the main contractors project itself.
• Work in tandem with the design and estimating departments.
• Managing over the project from the very first meeting to the handover date.
• Receive and action instructions from clients.
• Construction and managing variations.
• Work in partnership with other managers and site operatives.
