Brum Eco Racing We are the Shell Eco-Marathon team for the University of Birmingham.

We are the Shell Eco-Marathon team for the University of Birmingham, composed entirely of undergraduates any student can join our society and help build an ultra mileage car that can travel 1500mpg.

Hello everybody!! January has been a very busy month for us at Brum Eco Racing! We’ve accomplished so much, yet there’s still so much to do 🥲

This month, we were sponsored by and , who hosted a Generative Design and FEA CAD session and we had a really great turnout! 🖥️

We’ve also fully designed and finalised our motor driver, and it has already been sent out for manufacturing, so we should be able to see it working next month :)

From the Chassis team, one of our members noticed that our car doesn’t have a wheel cover and that alone could potentially save us time and fuel during competition! 🛞

The ICE department has been working extra hard this month. Getting the engine to run consistently was a huge accomplishment for the team! Furthermore, optimisation and a redesign of the pressurised fuel system were sketched out and implemented, and it has been working perfectly ever since 🏎️💨💨

Lastly, we completed our driver fittings this month as well — the drivers are now suited up and ready for competition!! 🧑‍🚀🧑‍🚀
