The 'You. Smart. Thing.' team is heading to Philadelphia for the ACT International Conference, taking place 26 to 29 July at Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.

On Monday 27 July, our CEO Chris Thompson will be moderating a panel session exploring how personalized, data-driven travel planning is being used to reduce congestion, improve the fan journey and drive growth across the live event sector, with real world case studies from Europe and North America.

Last week, the 'You. Smart. Thing.' team travelled to Lausanne for the Hosts & Federations Summit, hosted by Major Events International at the Olympic Museum. Our CEO Chris Thompson and Alex Townshend, Head of Environmental and Socio-economic Impact, represented YST across the three days. 🌍

Over three days, the summit brought together rights holders, host cities, destinations and suppliers shaping the future of major events, and it was fantastic to be in the room.

On day two, we hosted a panel on how personalised travel planning is changing the fan experience, from reducing congestion on event day to creating lasting legacy value for host cities and venues, joined by Isabella Burczak, Cycling for All & Sustainability Manager at Union Cycliste Internationale ( UCI ), LJ Nassivera, VP Transportation at the New York Mets (New York Mets ), and Sam Dils, Technology Coordinator at be•at (be•at venues ). A huge thank you to our panellists for their brilliant contributions, and to everyone who joined us for the discussion, it was a fantastic conversation. 🎤

It was also a privilege to hear sessions on topics close to what we do every day, from fan movement data and event delivery models to the future of major event hosting across sport, esports and beyond.

The conversations happening at HFS are exactly the ones that matter to us, how events are planned, how fans get there, and what lasting impact they leave behind.

At Glasgow Summer Sessions 2025, fans planned their trip in advance with official, door-to-door guidance tailored to their ticket, their location and how they wanted to travel. Not because it was the only option. Because they could actually see it, trust it and book it. 🗺️

How are we different from the maps people already have on their phones? Our CEO, Chris Thompson was asked exactly that at the Sports Loft Summit. 🎙️

Last week the 'You. Smart. Thing.' (YST) team headed to Manchester for the BASIS Sustainable Sport Conference 2026.

Across two days and two iconic venues, the National Football Museum and Manchester Central, the conference brought together leaders from sport, government, business and civil society to tackle one of the sector's biggest challenges: sustainability. 🌱

On day two, our CEO Chris Thompson joined a panel session on Sustainable Travel and Transport for Professional Sport, alongside Helen Hughes, Sustainability Manager at Newcastle United FC, and Steve Gilholme, Head of Events at Transport for Greater Manchester ( Bee Network). The session explored practical approaches to reducing visitor travel emissions while improving fan experience - the conversations we have every day with events, venues and cities. 🚌
