Heat Smart Orkney The Heat Smart Orkney project diverts unused renewable energy into affordable heating, which address What is the Heat Smart Orkney project?

Permanently closed.

The Heat Smart Orkney project diverts unused renewable energy into affordable heating, which addresses fuel poverty- a major issue in Orkney affecting 63% of the population. The project’s goal is to recruit 100 homes to participate within the first year, with a goal of 300 households by year five. What does the Heat Smart Orkney project hope to prove? We hope to prove that by increasing the local

demand on the grid at times of curtailment combined with switching on secondary heating systems we can demonstrate that primary heating system can work and cost less; thereby reducing fuel poverty. How does the Heat Smart Orkney project work? By continuously monitoring the electrical grid’s ‘measuring points’, we can anticipate when turbines will be curtailed. Units including dynamos, meters, radiators, flow boilers and/or immersion heaters installed in participating homes by Heat Smart Orkney technicians will be switched on once curtailment is identified, creating a local ‘demand side management system’.

‼️🐾🤞‼️
Can we please kindly ask everyone that has a sighting of the missing girl from Balmedie in the areas of BALMEDIE/BLACKDOG/BELHELVIE/NEWBURGH to NOT GO LOOKING for her, approach her, chase her or call to her! Please contact the NUMBER below in COMMENTS immediately with all information.
Your sightings are so important as you all are their eyes on the ground and helping them to keep track of her movements.
Its EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, anyone who does chase, call out, approach her are putting her in immediate danger of running on to roads panicked and the risk that she will move locations from the area where the Dog Trapping team currently have everything implemented within the area she is currently feeling safe within. She is in survival mode and very anxious and scared. There have been messages in that people have seen some folks who are out looking for her, please leave her alone so she still feels her area is her safe place. Everyone and everything is a threat to her because of the mode she is in. The team desperately need her to stay in her safe area and not be spooked and chased off into another area.
Thanks so much to all the local residents/dog walkers who have been amazing and all who have already called their number for sightings and keeping a look out, also for keeping all sightings off of social media to keep her kept safe.
They greatly appreciate it. Everyone wants her captured safely.
Contact NUMBER in COMMENTS.
