November 2024 - Wivenhoe Town Drain storm water outfall. Additional works to clear, fill & re-cut the ditch on the tidal side of the seawall are nearing completion. The ditch crossing has been re-established with new, larger pipework and the outlet headwall & flap valve cleared. The deterioration in the weather has delayed the final reinstatements but the works are nearing completion.

September 2024 - Wivenhoe Town Drain storm water outfall. Works to the original drainage system are nearing completion with just surface reinstatements ongoing . The Town Drain flow is now through the new system. The outfall ditch has been cleared and regraded as it became apparent at the start of the scheme that the ditch to the sea wall was blocked with silt build up & vegetation. A separate scheme will see the outfall flap valve and a section of ditch cleared on the tidal side of the sea wall.

August 2024 - Guilfords FAS, Old Harlow - The Thames Water Surface Water outfall headwalls are complete, enabling the reinstatement of the Basin floor and the removal of the access protection. The Retention Basin is now complete apart from the proposed boardwalk over the inlet spillway. Currently awaiting a design. Playground also to be reinstated.

July 2024 - Wivenhoe Town Drain storm water outfall. The drainage system is being updated to reduce historical flooding on St John’s Road & the Business Centre on Brook Street to the north-west of the site. The work scope includes replacing the existing concrete culvert with new HPDE pipework, the construction of a new chamber & a hessian bagwork outfall structure.

July 2024 - Bridleway 18 Essex Regiment Way, Chemlsford - Upgrade of the existing rural bridleway 18 to the east side of the A1016 Essex Regiment Way. The new bridleway is 3.5m wide and has a bound surface to accommodate the increased cyclist & pedestrian traffic anticipated by ECC with the developments of Beaulieu and Channels and the future railway station. Construction was done using no-dig methods where possible to limit the disturbance and impact on existing tree root zones and to cross existing large gas network distribution mains.

July 2024 - Guilfords FAS, Old Harlow - Instruction received from the Client to remove the 2 Thames Water surface water outfalls to the brook and divert them with headwalls into the detention basin. Grass cutting continues on the completed sections to prevent w**d growth and assist in the establishment of grass cover. Perimeter path completed. Periods of rain still halt progress.

April 2024 - Guilfords FAS, Old Harlow - Weather improving now enabling us to work within & with the existing material in the new detention basin. Headwalls and pipework installed for the outfall at the North end of the basin. Seeding to the slopes and completed south section of the basin. Waiting on decision on the 2 existing Thames Water surface water outfalls across our works that prevent us from completing the floor of the basin.
